I'm still here!


Yes, I am still here! A combination of moving for the 3rd time in a year, some sickness, work and prepping for a mini me to arrive at the end of the year has really hindered progress for the last few months…

However, there has still been significant progress made towards a first avaiable alpha.

  • Firstly, I wanted to have a little bit more content avaiable for the first alpha build. so instead of just going for world 1, the game will have an almost complete world 2 alongside a quick ending screen for the content.

  • World 2 will bring the player out of the caves into an abandoned construction area that was going to bridge the gap between 2 tiers of Slimetopia. The ground stomp is available to the player in this world.

  • There has been a tonne of small tweaks to things like collision boxes for the ground stomp or jumping distance + cooldown timer on the wall jumps, to try and provide some more consistancy in the players movement.

  • I would like to try and have another piece of music for alpha if my creative juices will let me, but I will not delay the release for this specifically if I run into a block.

  • I have been doing a little bit of reasearch in the background in regards to potential marketing routes. My current thinking is that I want to get a basic steam page up and running with this first alpha build that people can request playtest access to. While the game remains in a free state, I will continue to put release builds here on Itch. I am also looking at potentially putting it onto GameJolt as that is another good place to get early releases or demos out in the wild.

Next time I post, I am hoping to have an Alpha 1 release ready to download and play on all 3 platforms stated above. I am currently working to finish the ending scene and will look to try and fix 1 bug that has annoyed me for a bit. Once they are done then coding-wise Alpha 1 is complete.
