v0.6.6 BUILD


This time round I have been busy doing stuff in the background and adding some quality of life to the game. A few versions made since the last devlog. A lot of work has gone into the tutorial scene and some potential systems to use throughout the game.

0.6.6

  • Added PhantomCamera, Dialogic, SoftBody 2-D and GDLinter (this one can be removed at a later point) addons to the project.
  • Added first phantom camera to both the player and billboard 1 on the tutorial level, with an animation to switch between the 2 depending on where the player is stood.
  • Added a new tilemap to make some billboard type structures. The first bit of the tutorial displays what this could look like.

0.6.5

  • Added accessible tutorial level from main menu (This has a bit of a load time). Level still very incomplete.
  • Halved the sized of the crosshair.
  • Added some playing gifs to tutorial (the likely cause of the load time! Maybe I need to add a little load screen image before loading starts).

0.6.4

  • Add a buffer to the jump. You can now press jump 0.1 seconds before you hit the ground and the jump will go off still. the .1 can easily be adjusted in future if feedback suggests it.
  • Add a new animated grass tile to WIP tutorial level (not accessible yet). More of this to come soon. The idea is a simple level with billboards/signs that diplay how to perform mechanics. This will potentially be GIFs made from videos of the actions being performed.
  • Add light occlusion to current tilemaps to help remove the need for as much manual occluders.
  • Add 2 secret variables to aid mechanic usage in future + a 1st unlockable once coded.
